Marie-Cécile Zinsou created the Fondation Zinsou in Cotonou, dedicated to contemporary art, which she has chaired and been artistic director of since 2005. In 2013, she opened the Ouidah Museum of Contemporary Art. After 6 years on the Board of Directors of the Château de Versailles, she will be appointed Chair of the Board of Directors of the Académie de France in Rome, Villa Medici, in 2021. An Officier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, she was awarded the Praemium Imperiale - a grant for young artists - in Japan in 2014, in recognition of the work of the Fondation Zinsou.
