Bio


André Loesekrug-Pietri, of French and German nationality, has held senior positions in private equity, in ministerial cabinets, in industry and as an entrepreneur. Starting his career as assistant to the CEO of Aerospatiale-Airbus, he then spent 15 years managing several investment and venture capital funds, including 10 years in China, investing in European companies with strong international potential. In 2017, he joined the public sector as Special Adviser to the Minister of the Armed Forces, with particular responsibility for European defence policy and technological sovereignty. He is currently Chairman of the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (JEDI), which aims to restore European leadership in disruptive innovation, and has launched the first Darpa-type GrandChallenge in Europe in 2020. A graduate of HEC and the Harvard Kennedy School, and an alumnus of Sup-Aero, he teaches at SciencesPo Paris, is a member of the Innovation Board of the Munich Security Conference, the Steering Committee of the Saarland State Transformation Fund, a member of the jury for the Global Teacher Prize, and a former Sciences & Technologies columnist on Europe 1. A Young Global Leader at the Davos Forum, he is a co-founder of FrenchTech Beijing, a Business Angel and a Colonel (RC) in the French Air Force and a private pilot.
