Elisabeth MORENO

Bio

Élisabeth Moreno is a French-Cape Verdean woman born in Africa in 1970. Together with her family, she moved to France in 1976 and became successively a business manager, an executive, a consular judge, minister in the French government and she is now an entrepreneur.With a Master’s degree in Business Law from France as well as a double Executive MBA from ESSEC and the Mannheim Business School in Germany, she rounded off her education and professional training at the National School of Magistrates to qualify as judge. Élisabeth Moreno has spent most of her professional career in business. In 1990, she cofounded a company specialised in thermal rehabilitation that she managed for a decade. She then made a shift in the Tech world and worked for multiple corporations such as France Télécom, Dell and Lenovo where she became Chairman and CEO of the French subsidiary in 2017. Six years later, she joined Hewlett Packard to lead the African continent organization. Moreno also served on strategic boards committees for ID Invest Partners (Eurazeo) and the French Development Agency. On July 2020, Moreno was appointed by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, as Minister for Gender Equality, Diversity and Equal opportunities in the government of Jean Castex. Under her leadership, the French government successfully introduced a bill intended to protect victims of domestic violence, another one to promote women economic emancipation and a law to protect victims of conversion therapy. In 2021, she launched a platform to fight discrimination together with the Advocate of Human Rights. She will then experiment the diversity and inclusion index with French and foreign companies as well as actors from the associative world. Mrs Moreno is now helping companies to think and implement their strategy to build a more resilient, sustainable and inclusive business thru responsible initiatives with economic, social and environmental impact.
