Bio
Benoit Bazin Chief Executive Officer Benoit Bazin is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and Ponts Paris Tech, with a degree in Economics from IEP Paris (IEP). He also holds a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 1995, he joined the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance as a rapporteur for the Interministerial Committee on Industrial Restructuring, and later moved to the Treasury department where he was responsible for the aeronautics, electronics and defense industries. In 1999, Benoit Bazin joined Saint-Gobain. He held various positions in France and, from 2002, in the United States - in an operational role within the High-Performance Materials Sector - before being appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Group in 2005. From 2009 to end of 2015, Benoit Bazin headed the Building Distribution sector. In 2010, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain. From 2016 to the end of 2018, Benoit Bazin headed the Construction Products sector. During 2017, he also served as President and CEO of CertainTeed Corporation in the United States. Appointed Chief Operating Officer of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain on January 1st, 2019, then elected to the Board on June 3, 2021, he became Chief Executive Officer on July 1st, 2021. In addition, as a director of Vinci since June 18, 2020, he chairs the Strategy and CSR Committee and is a member of the Appointments and Governance Committee. He was also between 2009 and 2017 a director and member of the Audit and Risk Committee of Essilor, a committee he chaired from May 2016 to March 2017. On August 24, 2020, Benoit Bazin became a director of the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine. He has also been chairman of the ProQuartet-CEMC association (European Chamber Music Center) since September 30, 2014. Benoit Bazin is a Knight of the National Order of Merit and a Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
