Bio
Arnaud Rousseau is a farmer in Seine-et-Marne. Married with three children, Arnaud Rousseau was born on 15 January 1974. A graduate of the European Business School in Paris, he began his career in the wine trade, before joining the family farm, which he has run since 2002. On his five-generation farm in the commune of Trocy-en-Multien, he mainly grows rapeseed, sunflower, wheat, beetroot and maize on a surface area of 340 hectares. Highly involved in local life, Arnaud was elected councillor of Trocy-en-Multien in 2008, and has been mayor of the commune since 2014. He was also an officer in the operational reserve for more than 10 years. Convinced of the power of collective action, he has also been involved in farming unionism. Representing the Ile-de-France region, he was elected director of the FOP (Fédération française des producteurs d'Oléagineux et Protéagineux) in 2005. His responsibilities include the CAP, European and international affairs. Arnaud Rousseau is as close as possible to the realities on the ground, and is also involved in his department: he has been Chairman of the Seine-et-Marne FDSEA and is currently Vice-Chairman of the Ile-de-France Chamber of Agriculture. From February 2017 to May 2023, Arnaud Rousseau will be Chairman of the FOP, of which he is now a director. He remains Chairman of Avril Gestion, a position he has held since February 2017. Elected First Vice-President of the FNSEA in July 2020, Arnaud Rousseau is responsible for strategic issues such as the programming of the 2023-2027 CAP. He is also initiating and steering the #RéseauFNSEA2025 trade union project, which aims to adapt the organisation of the FNSEA network to changes in French agriculture and the challenges it faces: competitiveness, income and value creation, adaptation to climate and energy transitions and attractiveness as part of the renewal of agricultural generations. On 13 April 2023, he was elected President of the FNSEA for a three-year term.
