Breathing new life into innovation
Overview
Innovation, an important driver of economic growth and territorial development, is at the heart of the concerns of governments and local actors. To give it a new lease of life, it is necessary to create an environment favorable to innovation, while encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship and technology and putting in place appropriate public policies. Innovation clusters, business incubators, research and innovation funding programmes are all tools that can be used to stimulate innovation in the territories, but they raise many questions. Can neo-rural people, with their complementary human capital, give a new lease of life to innovation? Can we avoid the flight of talent and retain it in our territories? Should we rethink education in the face of the digital explosion? Can European innovation policies be applied territorially? How can we provide public support for innovation in certain strategic sectors (defence, energy, digital, health)?
