THE MEDITERRANEAN, A VOCATION Renaud Muselier is behind the Mediterranean of the Future operation, which has brought together authorities, researchers, business leaders, representatives of civil society and non-governmental organisations from the Mediterranean basin every year since 2017. He was appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs from 2002 to 2005. He chaired the High Council of the Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) and the Cultural Council of the Union for the Mediterranean (CCUPM). He was Chairman of the Établissement Public d'Aménagement Euroméditerranée, one of the largest urban renewal projects in Europe, currently underway in Marseille. A COP AHEAD OF HIS TIME Since his arrival at the head of the Region, Renaud Muselier has wanted the Southern Region to set an example when it comes to the environment, the Region with "a Cop ahead"! With his majority, he has put in place a Regional Climate Plan, to which the local authority devotes almost a third of its annual budget. Act 1 of Méditerranée du Futur, in 2017, focused on strengthening cooperation to protect the natural heritage of the Mediterranean. 1st PARTNER FOR BUSINESSES Renaud Muselier is doing his utmost to ensure that the regional authority is the "number one partner for businesses".
