Bio
Former French national soccer team player, Mathieu grew up and studied in Marseille before becoming a professional soccer player in 2003, playing for prestigious teams such as Olympique de Marseille, Arsenal F.C (UK), or A.C Milan (Italy). In parallel to his soccer career, Mathieu joined in 2016 the Environmental Excellence Committee for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Also, in 2018, Mathieu was selected to be part of the Young Global Leaders, a network created by the Davos Economic Forum Organization. In 2021, Mathieu became Entrepreneur-in-Residence of the Atomico investment fund, specialized in new technologies and among the largest in Europe. This fund was founded by Niklaass Zennström, founder of Skype. GFBiochemicals, founded in 2013, has its headquarters in France and has R&D laboratories in France and the Netherlands. GFBiochemicals is a pioneer company in the green chemistry sector. The company has developed and patented technologies to produce the platform molecule levulinic acid and its derivatives. This molecule has been recognized by the US Department of Energy as one of the 12 molecules that can replace the many harmful molecules produced by petrochemicals. GFB is improving quality of life for current and future generations, by reducing the negative impacts from consumer goods on the environment and society, while still meeting the people's needs.
