Laurent Saint-Martin was appointed Director General of Business France on 6 January 2023 by decree of the President of the French Republic, with responsibility for the agency's executive management in France and abroad. Drawing on his experience in both the private and public sectors, Laurent Saint-Martin's mission is to implement an ambitious strategy to support the internationalisation of the French economy, by assisting French exporting companies in their international development, and by prospecting for and welcoming foreign investment that will create jobs in France. Laurent Saint-Martin, 37, is a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord (EDHEC) and has extensive experience in the corporate finance sector. He began his professional career as an innovation account manager at Oséo in the Nord-Pas de Calais region. In 2012, he was appointed Head of Research at Oséo Picardie and helped set up Bpifrance in the region. In 2013, he was appointed Innovation Delegate for the Ile-de-France region before joining Euronext's Corporate Relations Department in 2016. He also has extensive political and parliamentary experience. He was Member of Parliament for Val-de-Marne from 2017 to 2022, General Rapporteur of the Finance, General Economy and Budgetary Control Committee at the National Assembly, and Regional Councillor for the Ile-de-France region. During his term of office, Laurent Saint-Martin also authored a parliamentary report on the taxation of French nationals born in the United States.
