Bio
President of Siemens France since 1 October 2021, Doris Birkhofer is also CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Her remit also covers BeLux and North Africa. Siemens is working on the convergence of the real world and the digital world to address major societal challenges in the fields of industry, infrastructure and transport. After graduating from the ESB Business School in Reutlingen (Germany) and the NEOMA Business School in Reims (France), Doris Birkhofer joined Siemens in the internal consulting department in Germany and the United States before working on group strategy. She subsequently became head of the identity and access solutions business in Munich. In 2009, after joining the strategy department at Saint-Gobain (now Verralia), she became head of the glass container machinery subsidiary in the Packaging division. In 2014, she joined the American company Alcoa (aluminium production), where she was responsible for managing acquisition and growth projects in Europe. In 2016, she was appointed Chairman of Arconic France (a spin-off from Alcoa). In 2018, she returned to Siemens as CEO of the Western Europe Region of the Building Technologies Division. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the Franco-German bank Oddo BHF. She is also Vice-President of the Franco-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CFACI). She is also a member of the Collectif Industrielles, which aims to change the image of industry among young girls and women and attract them to the sector.
