The awakening of ecological awareness
Overview
As the consequences of climate change become more concrete, the topic is becoming increasingly important in the public debate. Since the Paris Agreements in 2015, we have seen an increase in climate strikes, activist actions to challenge public opinion and a broad awakening of civil society to the ecological issue. Companies and political parties are also taking up the issue. Is this awakening of consciousness likely to lead to a change in our lifestyles? How do these new consciences move from words to actions? What are the consequences for political action? Faced with the polarization of the debate on the subject, should we moralize, persuade or lead all citizens towards new modes of consumption and reflection? Is one world dying while the other appears?
