Reconnecting generations together

The first links between generations are forged within families. Feeding, educating, caring, assisting, but also remembering, are roles that have always been carried out by this institution that we love to hate. However, it is not alone in building a space where generations meet. The State is responsible for massive transfers between generations: early childhood, education, health, dependency… a large part of public policies are intergenerational, while investment policies, in infrastructures, ecological transition, etc. are obviously intended for future generations. Businesses, whether lucrative or not, are also places where generations meet to work but also to offer goods or services intended for the whole population. From one era to another, or from one country to another, the relative positions of the family, the State and companies vary greatly and compensate for their mutual failings. The purpose of this session will be to discuss the generational equity of public intervention and to ask how it can contribute to better linking the generations together.
