Overview
High inflation, in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, is upsetting global balances and increasing inequalities. It is also affecting supply and corporate strategies, and therefore international trade as well as revenues and profits. Within regional economic zones – including the eurozone – the difference in inflation rates between countries makes it more difficult to coordinate economic policies and may even accentuate non-cooperative strategies. What impact does inflation have on globalization? How do companies adapt or avoid price rises? How does inflation affect household consumption and increase inequality? What public and wage policies can remedy the situation?
