Is it possible to guarantee access to healthcares?
Overview
How can the health system meet the immense challenges it faces in ensuring access to care? If these challenges were tangible long before the health crisis, the intensity of the crisis has reinforced them by revealing the fragility of the health system. Structural difficulties such as the deterioration of the supply of care are now combined with difficulties that we can hope are more cyclical (low attractiveness of medical careers, shortages of medicines, etc.). By threatening equal access to care, these challenges encourage us to assess the uncertainties that weigh on the healthcare system in order to identify levers for action. What organizational or technological devices could remedy medical deserts? How should these be articulated in a global strategy of accessibility to healthcare services? What public policy should be implemented to avoid disruptions in the pharmaceutical supply chain?
