Can the world emerge from patriarchy?
Overview
The return to power of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the repression of the feminist revolution in Iran, the perpetuation of feminicide, the maintenance of gender inequality, the list of attacks on women’s rights in the world is long. Feminist movements are experiencing a major resurgence with the #MeToo shock and the liberation of the word of victims of aggression, but for what result? Everything changes so that nothing changes. In France, only 2% of rape complaints result in a conviction. On the economic front, wage inequalities, the over-representation of women in the most precarious jobs, and their under-representation in positions of power, persist and are slow to materialise. On the other hand, the patriarchy resists, but to what extent? Is political inaction inevitable? What actions should be taken to achieve real equality between women and men, beyond the rhetoric?
