Nicholas DUNGAN

Senior Fellow - Atlantic Council

Nicholas Dungan is an adjunct faculty member of SciencesPo Paris, teaching chiefly at the Collège universitaire campus in Reims; a senior fellow of the Atlantic Council in Washington DC focused on France as well as other European subjects; a senior advisor to the Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques (IRIS) in Paris concentrating on the US and transatlantic relations; a member of the board of directors of the Chatham House Foundation, the US arm of the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London; and a board director of SciencesPo Alumni USA and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce New York Chapter.

At SciencesPo, Nicholas Dungan’s courses include “The Changing Role of Non-State Actors in International Affairs” as well as “Why France Matters”, also the title of his next book, currently in preparation. In addition, Nicholas Dungan teaches a course on “Strategies of Influence”, a topic at the core of his private consultancy practice.

Nicholas Dungan was previously president and chief executive of the French-American Foundation in New York and an Associate Fellow of Chatham House. In his earlier career he was a banker in New York, London and Paris, at Merrill Lynch and at Société Générale.

He is a graduate of SciencesPo Paris in economics and finance, Stanford University in modern European history and St Paul’s School (New Hampshire, USA) in classics.
