Jean-Pierre Martel is the founding partner of the law firm Rambaud Martel, now known as Orrick Rambaud Martel since its merger with the international American law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, which has offices located in the United States, Asia and Europe.
His practice is mainly concerned with financial and securities transactions, mergers, divestitures, corporate acquisitions and restructurings, the negotiation of complex agreements, prevention and management relating to companies in difficulty, business transfers and the liability of managers and auditors. Jean-Pierre Martel has also developed very substantial litigation and arbitration experience in these sectors.
His experience, which combines advice and litigation, is widely acknowledged by the market. He advises and represents French and international listed and non-listed companies, commercial and investment banks, and public and private companies from the industry, finance, real estate and service sectors. He also acts as an arbitrator in ad hoc, ICC and AFA arbitration proceedings.
He is the author of a number of publications and has spoken and presented at numerous conferences relating to stock exchange and securities law, bankruptcy and reorganization and other corporate law issues.
Jean-Pierre Martel is the founder and a member of the board of the ICM (Institute for Brain and Spinal Cord Disorders), which is recognized as a public interest body, and which is on its way to becoming the leading international research center in Europe on this matter.
