Sergey Sinelnikov-Murylev is Doctor of Economics, Professor, PhD. Born on 11 July, 1960 in Moscow, he graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1982.
In 1985, Sinelnikov-Murylev defended candidate’s thesis on economics at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1996, he defended doctor’s thesis on economics at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations under the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1997, he defended the PhD on economics at Université Pierre Mendès France Grenoble II. In 2005, he obtained Le diplôme de l’habilitation à diriger des Recherches en “Sciences Economiques”.
From 1993 to 1994 Sinelnikov-Murylev was the Advisor to the first deputy Chairman of the Russian Government. In 1993-2007 he was the Deputy Director of the Institute for the Economy in Transition. In 2007, he became the Rector of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy under the Russian Federation Ministry of Economic Development.
Rector Sinelnikov-Murylev is a renowned expert in the field of macroeconomics, tax, budget and monetary policy. He is the author of more than 30 monograph and more than 90 other works.
Rector Sinelnikov-Murylev is member of Economic Council of the President of the Russian Federation and member of several governmental commissions and committees.
