Ezra SULEIMAN

IBM Professor of International Studies - Princeton University

Ezra Suleiman is IBM Professor in International Studies and Professor of Politics at Princeton University. He obtained his A.B. degree from Harvard University and his Ph.D. from Columbia University.

He’s the author of numerous books, including Politics, Power and Bureaucracy in France, Dismantling Democratic States, The Politics of Public Sector Reform, The Making and Unmaking of Democracy, Bureaucrats and Policy-Making.  His most recent book is Bureaucratic Autonomy and the European Commission (Cambridge U.P., 2012). Many of his books have been translated into French. He also contributes articles to newspapers, and magazines on both sides of the Atlantic.

Ezra Suleiman has taught and carried out research at numerous institutions in Europe, including the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Paris) where he was a professor for several years, the CNRS, the European University Institute in Florence, the Institute for Advanced Study in Berlin, the American Academy in Berlin, the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin, the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study, and Nuffield College, Oxford.

He serves on the Editorial Boards of several scholarly journals. Although his main dedication has been to teaching and research, he has been a consultant to foundations, international organizations, and Think Tanks. He also serves on the boards of non-profit organizations and corporate boards.
