Nothing is more committing than investment. What are an investor’s motivations, profitability, the act of creation, environmental or social externalities –primarily employment? These new responsibilities accompany the emergence of “impact investing” and crowdfunding. Should the role of investors extend beyond investment itself? Is his interest consistent with a fair distribution of profits? What level of investment maturity is needed to secure safety for companies and liquidity for investors? Finally, how can governments encourage positive externalities through the tax system?
