A graduate of Sciences-Po Paris and ENA, with a DEA in economics, Philippe Wahl first joined the Conseil d'Etat as an auditor and maître des requêtes before becoming in 1986 the chargé de mission to the chairman of the Commission des opérations de bourse. In 1989, he became technical advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of economic affairs. In 1997, he was appointed head of the specialized financial services of Paribas. He was then CEO of the Caisse Nationale des Caisses d'Epargne, then of the Havas Group, Vice President of the Bolloré Group, and in 2007 Director of France for the Royal Bank of Scotland. In January 2011, he became Chairman of the Management Board of La Banque Postale and CEO of La Poste Group. Finally, in 2013, Philippe Wahl became CEO of La Poste Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of La Banque Postale. Under his leadership, La Poste Group has seen its turnover grow from 22 billion euros in 2013 to 34 billion euros in 2021, 41% of which is international. Philippe Wahl has made La Poste the leader in parcels in Europe, but also a leading European bancassurer by successfully completing the merger between La Banque Postale and CNP Assurances. Philippe Wahl has also enabled La Poste to accelerate its development and diversification into local services and trusted digital services.
