Olivier Klein is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique (ENSAE) and of the Cycle d'Etudes Supérieures en Finances d'HEC, has a degree in Economics (Université Panthéon-Sorbonne) and holds Russian and English language diplomas. He joined the BFCE in 1985. After holding positions of responsibility at the BFCE as head of the foreign exchange and interest rate risk management advisory department for the Bank's major clients, Olivier Klein created and headed the BFCE's investment bank (mergers and acquisitions and private equity). He was also Regional Director for Rhône Alpes-Auvergne-Bourgogne-Franche Comté in charge of corporate banking (medium-sized companies and large groups) in these regions. At the same time, he was part of the team in charge of merging Crédit National and BFCE (creation of Natixis). He joined Groupe Caisse d'Epargne in 1998 and in 2000 became Chairman of the Management Board of the Caisse d'Epargne Ile-de-France Ouest. At the beginning of 2007, he was asked to merge the Caisse d'Épargne des Alpes and the Rhône-Alpes Lyon. He was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of the newly created Caisse d'Épargne Rhône-Alpes. In addition to his duties at the Caisse d'Épargne Ile-de-France Ouest, and then at the Caisse d'Épargne Rhône-Alpes, he is also Chairman of the Groupe Caisse d'Épargne retail banking commission. At the beginning of 2010, Olivier Klein was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Groupe BPCE (comprising the Banques Populaires and the Caisses d'Épargne), in charge of Commercial Banking and Insurance. At the same time he was a member of the Board of Directors of Natixis and CNP and Chairman of the Board of Banque Palatine. BRED At the end of 2012, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of BRED, the largest commercial bank in the BPCE Group. The BRED group includes a retail bank, a corporate bank, a private bank, an asset management company, a trading room, an insurance company and banking subsidiaries in South East Asia, the Pacific, the East Horn of Africa and Switzerland. In addition, Olivier Klein is an Affiliate Professor at HEC. He is co-director of the HEC "Managerial and Financial Economics" major (Master 2 of the Grande Ecole) and the specialized Master of the same name. He teaches courses in "Financial Macroeconomics", "Monetary Policy" and "Economics and Management of Banking". He was a lecturer in the final year of his degree at the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) for the course on "international monetary problems" from 1983 to 1985 and Director of Research Groups in the third year at ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique) in 1985-1986. Olivier Klein was also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Doctoral School in Management Sciences at HEC - Panthéon Sorbonne (Paris I) between 1995 and 2005 and a member of the Board of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon in 2007-2008.
