The territories, actors of full activity

While production is concentrated in the metropolises, the population is spread out over the whole of France, and the result is a major territorial employment divide, well beyond that found among our European neighbours. Mobility is an essential element for revitalising activity in the territories. But who should be the actors of this mobility?
On the one hand, regaining full activity can be achieved through the geographical mobility of individuals as well as through professional mobility to enable a match between local supply and demand.
On the other hand, what is the role of local policies and when should the state compensate for existing employment failures?
Furthermore, the answers to these questions have potentially changed as a result of the pandemic, as technological changes – such as improved communication facilities – and societal changes – such as the acceptance of teleworking as a result of the health crisis – have had a significant impact on the work-space relationship.
