Louis Gallois began his career at the French Treasury. He was then chief of staff of Minister of Research and Technology (1981-1982) before being appointed General Manager of Industry (1081-1986) and Chief of Staff of the Minister of Defense (1988-1989). President of Snecma (1989-1982) and Aerospatiale (1992-1996), he became the president of the SNCF (1996-2006), co-CEO of EADS, then CEO (2006-2012) and at the same time CEO of Airbus (2006-2007). General Commissioner for Investment (June 2012-April 2014), he is former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PSA Group (Peugeot-Citroën).
Louis Gallois is co-chairman of the Fabrique de l’Industrie a “Think-Tank” to develop thinking on the challenges and prospects of the industry, former Chairman of Fédération des acteurs de la solidarités (since June 2012), and Chairman of Fond d'expérimentation territoriale contre le chômage de longue durée since 2016.
