Bio
Tiza Mafira is a law and public policy expert specializing in climate change and the circular economy. She holds a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws from Universitas Indonesia. She has also won fellowships at Oxford and Yale.
She leads Climate Policy Initiative Indonesia, a non-profit think tank and advisory organization focused on climate finance. Tiza has led work at CPI on various government initiatives, including advising PT SMI on the establishment of SDG Indonesia One Fund, facilitating Indonesia’s Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Finance in establishing the Environmental Fund Public Services Agency (BPDLH), and providing technical assistance to the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment on JETP implementation. She is also leading CPI Indonesia’s work on Just Transition and Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM), most recently serving as a member of the Advisory Group for ClimateWorks Foundation’s Just Transition Funds and supporting the JETP Secretariat and Finance Working Group in developing its Comprehensive Investment and Policy Plan (CIPP).
Outside of CPI, she is a member of the ESG Committee of Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara. She also co-founded Dietplastik Indonesia, a non-profit advocacy whose work has proliferated single-use plastic bans in 100+ cities across Indonesia, to be replaced by reuse systems.
She has received several awards, including:

- Mental Revolution award from the Government of Indonesia (2019)
- T Award given to 400 future leaders of Asia (2020)
- Women of The Year Award from Her World Indonesia (2021)
- IDEAfest Award for Activism (2021)
