Pierre-Yves GEOFFARD

Bio

Pierre-Yves Geoffard is currently Professor of Economics at the Paris School of Economics and Director of Research at the CNRS. He is also Director of Studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and Research Fellow at CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research). He is currently co-directing a multidisciplinary project on social inequalities in health through a gender lens, funded by the European Research Council. Among his many responsibilities, Pierre-Yves Geoffard has held several positions at PSE, including Director of UMR PjSE (Paris-Jourdan Sciences Économiques), Director of the APE (Analyse et Politique Economiques) master's and doctoral program, and Director of PSE-Ecole d'Économie de Paris. He was also a member of the Conseil National du Sida, the Conseil National du Numérique in 2017, and is currently a member of the Scientific Council of IRDES (Institut de Recherche et Documentation en Économie de la Santé), and the Institut National des Données de Santé. He was a columnist at Libération for the "economics" section from 2004 to 2022. Pierre-Yves Geoffard holds a PhD in Mathematics Applied to Economic Sciences from Université Paris-Dauphine. He also holds two DEAs, one in Economic Analysis and Policy from EHESS and the other in Mathematics Applied to Economic Sciences from Université Paris-Dauphine. He is also a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure.
