Luc Mathieu studied biology at Lyon 1 University before embarking on a career in project management at a regional Banque Populaire. At the same time, he became involved in the CFDT and gradually took on more and more responsibilities until he became General Secretary of the Fédération Banques et Assurances from 2010 to 2021. In September 2021, he joined the CFDT Confederal Executive Committee. As part of his mandate, he is responsible for economic policy, employee savings, remuneration and purchasing power, policy towards professional and managerial staff, VSEs and, lastly, digital issues. He is also President of Espace Belleville.
