Frederic Souillot obtained a diploma in confectionery at the age of 16. Employed at Thomson between 1990 and 1994, he was made redundant after the company was sold to the Korean for the symbolic franc; he was then hired by Schlumberger, which later became Tokheim. He’s responsible for the maintenance and installation of petrol stations. He joined FO and developed the union at Schlumberger, which rapidly grew and accounted for 70% of union representation. He then became the secretary of FO’s local branch in Beaune and was appointed union rep to the industrial court. He joined FO’s metallurgy federation in 2008 as federal secretary for steel and iron. In this capacity he negotiated the settlement with ArcelorMittal in Florange in 2012. He became a confederal secretary in 2015 at the conference in Tours. He first ran the training department and, in 2018, he became in charge of the legal and organisation department. He chaired the AGFPN (agency in charge of funding trade unions). He was elected FO general secretary in Rouen in June 2022.
