Bio
François Clément-Grandcourt has been a member of the executive committee of BIC Group and the general manager of BIC’s lighters division since 2016. His career began in the marketing department at Coca-Cola in 1997. In 2000, he joined BIC in marketing EMEA for shaver and lighter divisions. In 2006, he had taken over as general manager for the BIC Eastern Europe and Eurasia. In 2016, he was appointed general manager of BIC's worldwide lighter division, succeeding to its founder, François Bich. Throughout his career, François has consistently driven innovation in essential products, enhanced product safety, and led significant transformations towards sustainability, thereby shaping a new future for the division. A graduate of INSEAD and Sciences Po-IFA, François Clément-Grandcourt firmly believes that collaboration between academic researchers and industrial leaders offers valuable perspectives and solutions to contemporary challenges, particularly ecological ones. His extensive experience in publicly traded consumer goods companies and his commitment to engaging with external stakeholders have provided him with a deep understanding of industry’s role in contributing to a sustainable society.
