Bio
Eric Chenut holds a law degree from the University of Nancy 2 and has been a state administrative attaché since 2002. Eric Chenut has been involved in the mutual insurance movement since he was 20, founding La Mutuelle des étudiants (LMDE) in 2000 and joining the MGEN group in 2003, where he has held various local and national positions.
Eric Chenut has been President of Mutualité Française since 5 October 2021. He is also Managing Director of the MGEN group and a director of the VYV group, where he was Deputy Vice-Chairman of VYV 3 from 2017 to 2021, and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Fondation de l'Avenir.
His commitment has always been to individual and collective emancipation. His thinking has been nourished by his experience as a mutualist and by his many commitments to associations, notably within the Ligue des Droits de l'Homme, the APAJH and as Chairman of Droit au savoir, as well as by the day-to-day demands of his disability, which has meant total blindness since the age of 23.
