Bio

Doris Birkhofer has been nominated President of Siemens France since October 1, 2021, in addition to her responsibilities as CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure France. Her scope also covers Belgium, Luxembourg and the Maghreb. After graduating from ESB Business School in Reutlingen (Germany) and the NEOMA Business School in Reims (France), Doris Birkhofer joined Siemens’ internal management consulting entity in Germany and later on in the United States before leading portfolio and growth projects in Siemens’ corporate strategy group. Subsequently, she took over the business segment “identity and access management” in Munich. In 2009, after working as head of strategy of the packaging division of Saint-Gobain in Paris (today Verallia), Doris Birkhofer was nominated CEO of the machine construction subsidiary for the production of glass containers. In 2014, she joined the American company Alcoa (aluminum production) and to manage acquisition and growth projects in Europe. In 2016, Doris became President of Arconic France (spin-off of Alcoa). In 2018 Doris came back to Siemens to lead as CEO the Western European region of the Building Technologies division. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the Franco-German bank Oddo BHF. In 2023, she has been elected vice president of the Franco-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CFACI). Furthermore, she is involved in various associations such as “Elles Bougent”, “Femmes Ingénieurs”, and “Collectif IndustriElles” to attract girls and women towards scientific and industrial careers.
