Claire WAYSAND

Bio

Claire Waysand is currently Deputy Managing Director of Engie, where she is responsible for the General Secretariat, strategy, research and innovation, and communications. She is also a director of La Poste Group. Prior to joining Engie, Claire Waysand devoted a large part of her career to public service in France. Most notably, she was Chief of Staff to Michel Sapin, Minister of Finance and Public Accounts, a position in which she coordinated all the Minister's activities, including the Sapin 2 law. Prior to this, she was Deputy Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, and Deputy Director General of the French Treasury. She has solid experience in European affairs, having represented France on the European Economic and Financial Committee and served as a director at the European Investment Bank (EIB). She has also acquired broader international experience, working at the International Monetary Fund in Washington and on the economies of both developed and emerging countries. Claire Waysand joined the ENGIE Group in October 2019 and was the company's interim CEO from February to December 2020.
