Les Rencontres Économiques d'Aix-en-Provence

The Rencontres Economiques d’Aix-en-Provence was created in 2001 by the Cercle des économistes. For three days, this major economic event brings together academics, political, economic and associative leaders, representatives of international institutions and activists from all over the world around a key theme. They are also a space for expression and reflection for young people, who are an integral part of the debates.

Each year, a theme, often a pioneering one, is chosen and developed in a programme of 50 sessions and debates with more than 300 speakers: academics, political figures, representatives of international institutions and business leaders from around the world.

The aim is not only to decode current events and enable everyone to understand the issues at stake, but also to draw up innovative perspectives for the future.

Each year, a final Declaration is drawn up thanks to the richness of the exchanges.

Beyond the sessions, the Meetings are also a unique moment, where the usual barriers between disciplines, professions, ages and nations fall away. They are also a great opportunity for informal meetings between opinion leaders and the public.

The Aix-en-Provence Economic Forum is an event open to all and free of charge.

Le Cercle des économistes

Founded in 1992 by Jean-Hervé Lorenzi, the Cercle des économistes brings together some thirty economists with different approaches and skills, but with the same conviction: it is by opening up the economic debate to as many people as possible that we will solve the problems of our time.

Since its creation, the Cercle des économistes has stimulated the debate by organising discussions and major events in French and international economic life. For 23 years, it has organised the Rencontres Economiques d’Aix-en-Provence.

Thanks to the diversity of opinions of its members, all academics who hold or have held public or private positions, and to the numerous activities developed over the years, the Cercle des économistes is today a recognised player in the economic world.
