Generation Z at work, whom adapts to whom?

Controversy 14 Amphi 4 July 6, 2024 15:30 - 16:00

Overview

Referred to as the generation born between 1997 and 2010, Generation Z has only recently begun to flood into the job market. With their strong ideals and commitments, notably to the planet, hyper-information on social networks and acute search for meaning, companies had plenty to worry about. This was all the more true given that lockdown, work-from-home and the search for meaning that took hold of the workforce as a whole following the Covid crisis were powerful catalysts for Generation Z.

We have seen that companies that have been able to broaden their scope to include social and environmental concerns have found themselves much more popular with Generation Z. What’s more, young workers are less reluctant to resign if the job no longer matches their aspirations. Worried about current and future shocks to our world, it’s the search for security and a healthy balance between professional and personal life that seems to be a priority for Generation Z. So: Generation Z at work, who’s adapting?
