Bio

Denis is a Managing Partner at Cathay Capital, co-founder & CEO of Cathay Innovation. Previously, he was in charge of international activities for the Orange/Publicis fund in San Francisco. He was responsible for Corporate Venture at Orange and a member of the Executive Board at Innovacom. Denis has developed an original and unique way of investing in technology, where he applies all the usual processes involved in venture capital investment, while also integrating his vision of the major societal changes occurring on a global scale. He places great importance on the contribution of startups to sustainable development, analyzes the competitive landscape across all ecosystems worldwide, and takes into account the opinions of numerous leading industry figures within his network. He believes that the dynamics thus created allow him to be closer to the entrepreneurs he supports, offering them real prospects of going further, faster. Denis began his career as a researcher in the Orange Telecom laboratories, where his work focused on quantum dots. He holds a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics, is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, and an engineer from the École nationale supérieure des télécommunications.
