Bio
Pierre Sellal, a graduate of the Ecole Nationale de l'Administration, is a French diplomat.
He has devoted a large part of his career to European affairs, holding several successive posts in Brussels and for more than ten years serving as Ambassador, Permanent Representative of France to the European Union (until the end of 2017). He was elevated to the rank of French Ambassador in 2008, following France's presidency of the European Union.
He also held the two most important positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, each for 5 years (Director of the Minister's Cabinet, then Secretary General of the Ministry).
Since 2017, he has chaired the Fondation de France (France's largest philanthropic organization).
He has worked as senior counsel at the August-Debouzy law firm since 2018.
