Eduardo Cavallo, currently the Principal Economist at the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington DC, also serves as an Adjunct Professor at The Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Before his current tenure at the IDB, he held the position of Vice-President and Senior Latin American Economist at Goldman Sachs, New York. This was after his first stint at the IDB between 2006 and 2010 as a Research Economist. Earlier in his career, Eduardo was affiliated with the Center for International Development (CID) as a research fellow, was a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and was a faculty member at the Kennedy School of Government's Summer Program. Specializing in international finance and the economic impacts of climate change and disasters, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, Eduardo's scholarship has led to seven books and a multitude of publications in prestigious academic journals. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Public Policy and an MPP from Harvard University, alongside a B.A. in Economics from Universidad de San Andres in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
