Bio


Sahar Albazar is a distinguished Egyptian Member of Parliament and currently serves as the Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee at the Egyptian House of Representatives. Her extensive influence and contributions are recognized globally, as she represents the International Monetary Fund (IMF) & World Bank Group (WBG) as the lead of the women parliamentarians council, engaging with 190 countries. Previously, Sahar held the prestigious position of President at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) forum of young parliamentarians, representing the interests and perspectives of young leaders across 178 countries. Her leadership extends to academia and advocacy, where she is the Head of the Harvard women in defense, diplomacy, and development, focusing on initiatives and challenges pertinent to Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2022, Sahar's efforts and impact were recognized when she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, a testament to her leadership and potential. In the same year, Yale University honored her as a World Fellow, acknowledging her contributions to global affairs and leadership. Recently, in 2024, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) selected her as a fellow, where she focuses on national and international security policies. Sahar holds a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she focused on enhancing her expertise in governance, policy analysis, and public administration. Her academic background and professional experiences make her a prominent figure in international relations, emphasizing her commitment to enhancing diplomatic engagements and developing strategic security policies. Her roles and recognitions underscore her as a pivotal figure in shaping international policy and advancing women's roles in global leadership.
