Marie-Pierre DE BAILLIENCOURT

Bio


Marie-Pierre de Bailliencourt holds a PhD in Geopolitics from the Université Paris-Sorbonne, in addition to her doctoral studies in International Affairs at Johns Hopkins University.

Most of her career has focused on strategy, operations and international affairs in public and private environments with high technological and geopolitical stakes. She began her career in the Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in 1995, was then in charge of international development and M&A at Rexel and was a consultant at McKinsey in the 2000s. From 2004 onwards, she held senior positions at Dassault Systèmes, where she was in charge of Industries, before becoming Deputy Managing Director at Bull and Naval Group. In the latter two roles, she was responsible for the development of the new generation of supercomputers for deterrence and the contract for the sale of submarines to Australia.

Her taste for academic reflection has led her to maintain close links with French-speaking academic circles. She is the author of a Traité Pratique de Négociation and has taught at the Institut de Sciences Politiques de Paris for several years.Her background reflects her interest in sovereign issues and complex environments.
Marie-Pierre de Bailliencourt is a director of Groupe La Poste and Chair of its Quality and Sustainable Development Committee, where she represented the French State and now represents CDC. She is also an independent director of ComGest and Exclusive Networks, three French companies that are representative of today's social, economic and technological panorama.
