Bio


Devika is an entrepreneurial development professional with over two decades of experience in driving investment and partnerships for innovative solutions for climate and sustainable economic development. She currently serves as Senior Vice President Strategic Philanthropy and Marketing Communications at The New York Women’s Foundation where she leads and directs strategic partnerships, innovative finance, fundraising strategy, and strategic communications to accelerate the Foundation’s growth to meet the urgency of the climate, gender, racial, and economic justice crisis. Over the years, Devika has partnered with several highly successful boards and high-level government offices to plan and execute development initiatives and lead organizations through significant growth. This includes developing the country-wide disaster management plan with the Planning Commission of India for the 2004 Tsunami Crisis and with the Greater London Authority for implementing the UK-wide Business Improvement District model of Public Private Partnerships. Devika serves on the board of DRISHTEE, which is working in India to facilitate design and development of community-led economic and social solutions to facilitate development of 10 million livelihoods. She also serves on the secretariat of Credit for Communities, a global Collective of Ashoka fellows working to facilitate the growth and replication of ideas and solutions for microfinance. A subject matter expert with published work on innovative public-private partnerships and collaborative funding vehicles, Devika has advised the World Economic Forum on ideation of their planetary health challenge and collaborated with TechChange to advise a course on Climate, Health, and Technology. Devika holds a Master of City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters in Economics from Bombay University.
