Who we are

Les Rencontres Économiques d'Aix-en-Provence

Since 2001, the Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence have been a unique moment of collective intelligence expressed through stimulating debates.

Each year, a theme, often a forerunner, is chosen and developed in a programme of 50 sessions and debates with more than 300 speakers: academics, politicians, representatives of international institutions and business leaders from around the world.

The aim is not only to decipher current news and enable everyone to understand what is at stake, but also to draw up innovative perspectives for the future.

Open to all and free of charge, the Economic Meetings will be fully broadcast online, live from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Aix-Marseille University. The largest audience will thus be able to follow the discussions and interact with the speakers.

Le Cercle des économistes

Le Cercle des économistes was created in 1992 on the initiative of Jean-Hervé Lorenzi with the ambitious objective of nourishing the economic debate. It has been organising the Rencontres Economiques d’Aix-en-Provence for 20 years.

Thanks to the diversity of opinions of its members, all academics who hold or have held public or private positions, and to the many activities developed over the years, the Cercle des économistes is today a recognised player in the economic world.

Its success is based on a common conviction: the importance of an open and accessible debate, rigorous and taking into account the facts and analyses.

It is through the organisation of important public debates in France and abroad, through its participation in major economic events and in several regular media events, that the Cercle des économistes pursues its mission: that of offering a wide space for economic expression and debate.
