Deciding with stakeholders
Overview
With the Covid-19 crisis, companies have undergone unprecedented change in record time. The challenges facing us are many and varied. Obviously, the new forms of work and the obligations of the various stakeholders require a profound rethinking of the way of working and the power relations between management and employees. On the investor side, profitability and the search for profit remain essential, but the concern for societal, ecological and economic responsibility is growing. Finally, the macroeconomic context that is emerging seems to favour those who hold the assets at the expense of the employees, particularly because of the ECB’s monetary policy. How then should the added value of companies be distributed among the various stakeholders? To what extent can the different economic actors jointly decide on the decisions to be taken to maximise profits while ensuring a satisfactory redistribution?
