Working tomorrow
Overview
Changes in work have been at the heart of the issues at stake in the Covid-19 crisis: teleworking, ‘frontline’ and ‘backline’ workers, ‘resignation’ or withdrawal from the labour market. All of this has accompanied a second wave of job transformation linked to digital technology, already at work before the pandemic: polarisation of the labour market, development of self-employment, “uberisation” of platform workers.
These developments raise a number of issues in order to better understand this new world of work. We need to see the threats in order to anticipate and support them, but also the opportunities in order to seize them. What impact will these new forms of work have on productivity? What skills should be developed to anticipate them? How can telework accompany the decentralisation of production methods? How are the new generations reshaping the labour market?
