Biographie
Barry C. Lynn is CEO and Founder of the Open Markets Institute in Washington. He is author of Liberty from All Masters: The New American Autocracy vs. the Will of the People (St. Martins, 2020), as well as Cornered (2010) and End of the Line (2005). In these works, Lynn pioneered understanding of how the monopolies of the 21st century threaten our democracy, individual liberty, security, and prosperity. Lynn’s critique of the “Chicago School” philosophy has been the subject of hearings in the Senate, House, and FTC, and of high-level discussions by policymakers and scholars around the world. His work on the flaws in the international trading system – especially the fragility of vital supply chains – has been widely studied in Europe, Asia, and throughout the U.S. government, most recently in a half-day conference at the OECD in Paris. Lynn’s thinking has been profiled in The New York Times, Politico, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, and CBS. Lynn has also worked as Executive Editor of Global Business Magazine and a correspondent for the Associated Press and Agence France Presse in South America and the Caribbean.
