Will Blockchain Put an End to Intermediaries ?
With the arrival of the blockchain, is a revolution shaping up in the field of finance, and more broadly in the entire economy? This technology, designed to store and transmit information transparently in a decentralised system, enables transactions to be carried out immediately, securely and without intermediaries. While blockchain’s primary domain is incontestably finance, the range of possibilities seems unlimited, with applications in insurance, property, health, telecommunications, transport, energy and so on. One particular field is climate: an area where blockchain is currently the focus of numerous debates and expectations. This session proposes a debate on all these aspects by presenting the challenges and objectives of behind blockchain, its numerous applications and the opportunities it offers, while counterbalancing them with the risks and adaptations required for its adoption.
