He is basically an economist and has cumulative professional experiences in accounting, budgeting and management.
He is leading the education sector through the Group ISM which is a high ranking business school decentralized in twelve (12) campuses across Senegal, and owns five (5) high schools known as “Lycées d’Excellence”. More than 20,000 Alumni and 8,000 registered students are part of ISM’s assets.
In fact, Mr. Amadou Diaw started his career in Paris with GMF Company; he was in charge of the control and budgeting department.
Thereafter, when he returned to Senegal, he led the Association of Senegalese Employers (CNES) as the Executive Manager for years. This position helped him to better understand the role of the private sector in African economies, especially in Senegal and he could therefore apprehend the tools necessary for the empowerment of the African human resources.
Consequently, in 1992, was born the Group ISM. A small business school which will quickly become the major African partner of outstanding European Business Schools, with a particular focus on France.
Former Chairman of both the Association of Senegalese Business Schools aslo known as Conférence des Grandes Ecoles du Sénégal (CGE) and the Virtual University of Senegal, he has been trusted by the Government to lead various institutions performing in the private education’s field in Senegal. Besides, he is one of the Founder of the Association of African Business Schools (AABS).
The International School of Management (ISM) is Senegal’s first and largest private business school founded by the President, Amadou Diaw, twenty years ago. ISM has over 3,000 students and 7,000 alumni, representing 30 African countries www.ism.sn In 2011, we designed and delivered a leadership development programme entitled African Leadership – Creating 21st Century Leaders for 78 management undergraduates.
In 2013, we designed and delivered Leadership and Entrepreneurship modules and workshops for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Executive MBA respectively.
