Thibaud SIMPHAL

Regional General Manager, Western and Southern Europe - Uber

Thibaud joined Uber in early 2014 as General Manager in France. He currently heads Uber in  Western & Southern Europe, overseeing its fast-growing business across 30 cities and 11 countries in France, Switzerland, Austria; Germany; Southwest Europe; Southeast Europe.

Since a young age, Thibaud has had a strong entrepreneurial appetite. Growing up in the French Champagne region, he started developing software at the age of 13 to help manage logistics for his family’s trading business. Over the following years he launched several startups in logistics, content and consumer tech, one of which even resembled what we call Uber today. Thibaud also worked at the European Commission’s DG Trade, and at LexisNexis. He later founded a strategy consulting boutique and a seed capital investment vehicle.

Thibaud holds degrees in law from King’s College London and the Sorbonne, and in management from Paris-Assas University. He completed his MBA at London Business School. Thibaud has lived in France, Belgium, the UK and the US. He now lives in Paris and is married with two kids.

In his spare time, Thibaud helps people with autism through his role as President of Les Amis d’Arthur, a non-profit organisation, and he serves as an advisor to several startups and venture capital funds.
