For the 4th edition of “La Parole aux Étudiants”, “le Cercle des économistes” called on young people to express themselves on the theme “In a world of turmoil, what do you expect from France?”. Obviously, the future will not be built without the young generation and the members of “Le Cercle des économistes” firmly believe it is urgent to listen to them. This is why they launched in 2013, a call for ideas inviting students to write an original text, with thoughts, ideas and proposals relevant for the future. A selection of 100 is invited to actively participate in “Les Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence”. The four winners, chosen by a jury chaired by Erik Orsenna, member of the French Academy, will receive the “2016 La Parole aux Étudiants” award. On Friday morning, members of “Le Cercle des économistes”, business leaders and journalists will host workshops specifically for the students. Then they will meet to make their proposals for the future. Throughout the three following days of debates, students are invited to engage directly with the speakers during round tables. For members of “le Cercle des économistes”, it is their duty and responsibility to carve out a space for these young people who rightly claim their capacity for action and reflect collectively and enthusiastically on the fundamental questions for a sustainable future.
