Jérome Chartier started his political career as the general secretary of the group of independent senators from 1989-1992. In 1995, at the age of 28, he became one of the youngest French mayors by winning the town of Domont. In parallel, he created his own consultancy firm, C and C and worked successfully for Investment funds, Industrial funds and management societies. In 2002, after his election at the parliament he committed himself entirely to his political activities.

At the National Assembly, he is a member of the prestigious finance commission, in charge of the budgetary matters of state fields. In 2008, he was appointed spokesman group for the discussion of the law reforming the constitution of the Vème Republic.

In addition to his political commitment, Jérome Chartier published two books on french politics: the first one ‘le lifting de Marianne’ in 2005 and the second one in 2013 ‘L’éloge du travail’, where he states the cardinal virtue of this humane activity and the importance of its social psychological and moral impacts on individuals.

Lastly, Jerome Chartier relaunched in 2003  «Les Entretiens de Royaumont » that were first initiated in 1947 by Henry Gouin. It is one the major political think tank in France and has already started its internationalisation with conferences in Varsaw, Madrid and Abu Dhabi.
