Professional experience :

Eric Lombard is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) of Generali Assicurazioni since October 2013 and CEO of Generali France. As such he is a board member of Generali’s French subsidiaries.

Eric Lombard is also a board member of the Fédération Française des Sociétés d’Assurances (FFSA) and President of the Université de l’assurance. He is also President of the Strategic Council of the ESC Troyes (management school).

He is a board member of BPI France and President of the Audit Committee since December 2014.

From 1981 to 1989, Eric Lombard hold various positions at BNP Paribas, in Indonesia and in France (Export Finance department, CFO department).

From 1989 to 1993, Eric Lombard worked for the government, first as Technical Adviser in the office of Louis le Pensec, French Government spokesman, from 1989 to 1991. He then became Adviser to Michel Sapin, Deputy Minister for Justice from 1991 to 1992 and Minister of Economy and Finance from 1992 to 1993.

Eric Lombard returned to BNP Paribas in April 1993, as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for the Banking and Insurance sectors. He was then appointed Head of the Financial Institutions Group in 1997, becoming a member of the Management Committee for the Corporate and Investment Banking Division in 1999. In September 2002 he became also Head of Corporate and Financial Institutions.

In 2004, he was appointed CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif, the company’s life and casualty insurance branch. He became chairman of this group in 2006.

He joined the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas in 2011.

In 2012, he was elected “Insurer of the year 2011” by the Club des Assureurs.

Education :

Eric Lombard graduated from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC).
